A variant of Llano will be available at a TDP of 55W, Fudzilla reports. This is a remarkable achievement, considering each Llano APU would consist of 4 Stars cores (the same used in Phenom II), a DDR3 memory controller, PCIe 2.0 controller, and a full fledged GPU. Llano will be fabricated at 32nm SOI.

Of course, we can expect the 55W to be a low-power version, with a low clock speed and perhaps much of the GPU disabled.

Llano will feature between two and four cores. The highest end Llano will feature four cores, and between a rumoured 400 to 480 HD 5000 shaders. Current Athlon II X4 quad cores make the 45W TDP barrier, though it does so with low clock speeds, and of course, without a GPU on board. The top Llano part is expected to fit in the 95W TDP.

Fudzilla also suggests that the dual-core version of Llano will get to as low as 20W TDP.

It is not mentioned whether Fudzilla are talking about the notebook or desktop platforms, however, since 55W on notebooks would make an extremely hot APU - and up there with the enthusiast level Intel Core i7M Extreme Edition CPUs.

Llano is still on schedule for a release in early 2011, and engineering samples have been doing rounds for a while now.
