Alienbabeltech have spotted "official" prices of two AMD Phenom II X6 products. Surprisingly, one of these products is none of the three expected, but rather a model expected in the future - the AMD Phenom II X6 1090T BE. The 1090T has 6 cores running at a substantial 3.2 GHz. TDP has not been mentioned. It is priced at $295, which makes it a direct competitor to Intel's Core i7 860. More details next page.

The other X6 priced is the expected Phenom II X6 1055T, clocked at 2.8 GHz, priced against the Core i5 750 at $199. This will make for an interesting battle as in multi-threaded applications, the 1055T will be a fierce competitor to the i5 750, which has 4 cores/threads clocked at 2.66 GHz.

Of course, we have to take these prices with a grain of salt, or indeed, the existence of a 1090T BE at launch. If true, there's no doubt AMD is going to on the offensive with aggressive with pricing. For users using multi-threaded applications frequently, the Phenom II X6 CPUs will be exceptional value for money, if these prices prevail.
