[Rumour] GF100 Benchmarks vs. Radeon HD 5870

Reported by on Thursday, March 4 2010 6:06 pm

Chinese website Pcinlife has leaked benchmarks of a GF100 based card simply titled "A Card" vs. the Radeon HD 5870. The two cards are compared in Crysis Warhead, Dirt 2 and Unigine. Interestingly, the products are mentioned as GTX 360/380, but this may be because the sample tested is an engineering sample, with an A2 stepping GPU, before the cards were branded Geforce GTX 470/480. The "A Card" performs well below the HD 5870 in Crysis Warhead and Dirt 2 DX11. It puts in a strong showing in the Unigine synthetic benchmark, surpassing the HD 5870. Also, it performs well in Crysis Warhead 8xAA. This might have something to do with the GF100's presumably higher frame buffer as the HD 5870 seems to be crippled. More next page.

The "A Card" is seemingly the lower variant, or the GTX 470, or its pre-final branding GTX 360. Of course, these numbers should be taken with a grain of salt, but seems to be in line with the rumours floating around the internet. Also, these are only from an engineering sample, rather than the final shipping product, with a potentially immature driver.
