12-inch MacBook with high resolution display rumored to release next year
Apple is rumored to be working on a new 12-inch MacBook which will supposedly have a high resolution display. This new MacBook is expected to be released in mid 2014.
This 12-inch MacBook is also said to have a new design, a clamshell form factor which is even thinner and lighter than the current MacBook Air. The analyst who makes this prediction doesn’t classify this tablet as a MacBook Air, so its probably not going to be a replacement for the Air, it would just be a supplement to Apple’s existing ultra thin and portable notebook lineup.
No technical specifications are available as yet, though its possible that the new 12-inch MacBook might tout Intel Haswell processors. It is said to have a high resolution display, one that will offer the visual experience of the Retina MacBook Pro, says Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities. So this will essentially be a 12-inch MacBook with Retina Display. It hasn’t been said if Apple will update the Air line to include Retina Displays in them next year. This rumor falls in line perfectly with a recent rumor from another bunch of analysts, who claimed that a 12-inch MacBook is being developed that has a 2304×1440 pixel resolution display.
Still, it can’t be said for sure if Apple will indeed release a new MacBook model next year. A concrete release date is not available at this point in time, and many of us are just curious about the technical specifications that this 12-inch MacBook is supposed to have. Hopefully we’ll hear more about this notebook in the coming months.
