The internet is not a safe place, and social networks have proven to be a useful tool for internet predators such as thieves, hackers, and stalkers.  A 17-year-old girl from Australia learned first-hand why you shouldn’t post certain things on the internet.

The BBC reported that several robbers saw a picture of a stash of money posted by the teenager, and soon after the robbers, armed with a knife and club, broke into the girl’s mother’s home.  The picture was taken from the girl’s grandmother’s house, so it was unclear how the bandits found the girl’s mother.

Luckily for the girl’s mother, the bandits only took a small amount of cash and some personal belongings and did not hurt anyone in the process.
