It seems the bad bump/underfill issue doesn't just plagued some of the Nvidia G84/G86 notebook GPUs. Their 3 year old "high end" G71M GPUs might suffer the same problem as well. For your information, notebooks with GeForce Go 7950 GTX, Go 7900 GTX and Go 7900 GS are based on G71M.

Nvidia recently informed their partners that they will be producing G71M-T notebook GPU based on the new Eutectic Bump/Hitachi Underfill and encourage customers to transist to this latest revision as soon as possible. This improves product quality and enhances operating life by improved thermal cycling reliability.

Most probably, Nvidia is taking some precautionary measures here and we aren't aware if consumers are facing any issue currently. However, if you are having notebooks based on G71M GPU and facing graphics related issue, we would certainly love to hear from you.
