5 7800GT Voltage Mods

The 20 pipe-lined 7800GT is the latest addition to the nVidia 7 series of GPUs.
There is a lot more potential in these GPUs once enough cooling and voltage
is applied to them.

VR-Zone shows you how to voltage mod the 7800GTs.

All these voltage modifications are located right behind the
cards.

1 7800GT Voltage Mods

Some simple soldering skills is needed for the VGPU (AKA GPU
Core voltage) mod. For theose new to Voltage modding, please refer to this guide.

2 7800GT Voltage Mods

You can measure VGPU from the point marked above. Default 2D voltage is 1.2v
while in 3D it rises to 1.4v. To increase VGPU, simply solder a 3K ohms variable
resistor to the point marked. the other end of the VR should be grounded. Set
at the maximum resistance of 3k ohms and it will increase VGPU by 0.1v. Tune
doiwn resistance for more voltage.

For Memory Voltage mod, you can choose to use a pencil or a
variable resistor.

3 7800GT Voltage Mods

Measure VMem from the point indicated. Default is 2.08v. Pencil the resistor
marked above. Original resistance is 620 ohms. Penciling and reducing the resistance
of the resistor to 600ohms will increase the VMem voltage by 0.06v.

Or for more accurate tuning, solder a 10K ohms VR to the point
indicated below:

4 7800GT Voltage Mods

Set VR to 10K ohms and ground other leg of VR. Tune down for more voltage.

Please use adequate cooling when voltage modding.
