Reported by on Wednesday, October 24 2007 4:58 am

We told you earlier about the performance scaling of CrossfireX and here is the graphical representation on RD790+Phenom platform. RD790 chipset will officially be known as AMD 790FX part of the AMD Elite Series. Some boxes and boards shots have appeared online and you can see them here, here and here but the official launch will be in November. So far, the FSB overclockability of the RD790 is ~420MHz with a FX-62 and ~270MHz with a B1 stepping quad-core Phenom. We heard overclockability will improve much with a B2 stepping quad-core Phenom which will be available soon and we will let you know how well it overclocks then.
