The ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe is one of the most painstakingly engineered board x16 SLI motherboard based on the AMD S939 socket. It tries to win in all areas from the looks to the overclockability and stability with its 8-phase power circuitry.

Within means of the BIOS, the board gives up to 1.76v for the CPU with the over-voltage option. For most of the normal-users, this is more than enough. For the die-hard overclockers with exotic-cooling such as phase-change or even benchmarking enthusiasts on Dry Ice and Liquid Nitrogen, they may be looking for more voltage than that. Below, we show you how to modify the board for increased core voltage.

This article presumes you have some basic knowledge on voltage modifications. If you do not please read through this guide.

At the SMD capacitor shown above, solder on a 20K ohms Variable Resistor. Set resistance to maximum resistance of 20K Ohms. Connect the other leg of the VR to any grounded spot. You can monitor your vcore reading from the BIOS Hardware monitor. Tune down resistance to increase voltage. Do it slowly and carefully!

For the more adventurous, you may want to control your chipset voltage.

At the SMD resistor shown above, solder on a 2K ohms Variable Resistor. Set resistance to maximum resistance of 2K Ohms. Connect the other leg of the VR to any grounded spot. You can monitor your vchipset reading wioth your multi-meter from the MOSFET leg shown above. Tune down resistance to increase voltage. Do it slowly and carefully!
