Ok, so we heard the Intel C19 Board from DFI has been cancelled while we have just finished our preview of it, based on a beta BIOS.

So I liked the board in comparison to the rest of the C19 boards. But the raw BIOS is headache for me. While it was too hard to resist pestering DFI for a new BIOS (with a detrimental bigger than 11x Multiplier selection), those waiting for DFI's RD600 would be pissed with me as I would be straying the LAN Party Team from concentrating on the board that's just around the corner.

Still, the most helpful Engineer I know to date, Jarry from DFI suggested to me to just try switching in the C19 Reference BIOS, which has a >11x Multiplier selection. Well, why not?? At most a 5 minutes job!

So expeditioano BIOS Xchango:

And so boot up time! It works!!

Just that just about nothing's reported correctly....

And the voltage control is close to non-existent so I can set any setting but they don't really change. That is still ok, I've modded some voltages so I have control, and I just need to mod some other voltages, such as Memory so I can control them.

Most importantly, higher than 11x Multiplier works!!!

A shame that with the switched out BIOS, it's now detected as a reference board. No matter.

Some other drawbacks include the loss of my PS2 ports. I can press numlock a few times to bring up the boot screen fast and have my PS2 keyboard work, but I have to rely on my USB mouse. No biggie yah?

And the Diagnostic LED don't show nothing nomore.... can't really blame it, but even if it did, gonna be probably some gibberish.

Okayyy, so the BIOS transplant is grafting well onto the new host... I just need one two more Voltage Mods, and an ink mod on the Core 2 Duo to max out the CPU volts... and I should be able to start benching on this board!
