LG Electronics today announced the availability of three new notebooks – LG R200-G, LG R200-Q (SideShow Dual Screen) and LG R405–G, which will be equipped with Intel’s next-generation Centrino Mobile technology based on the Santa Rosa platform – bringing high performance with trend-setting designs.
The Santa Rosa platform consists of Intel ® Core ™ 2 Duo processor, a more powerful mobile chip, optional up-to-date wireless LAN, and Intel® Turbo Memory, offering high-efficiency and fast wireless Internet specifications.

The Santa Rosa platform comes with Intel’s NAND flash-based platform accelerator which enables a much shorter boot-up time and increases power savings. Also, Santa Rosa platform’s ability to switch between single-threaded and multi-threaded tasks allows it to perform as well as a mobile gaming platform.

The glossy black and white LG R200-G is a 12.1” widescreen multimedia powerhouse that supports independent graphics, built-in ODD, and SRS WOW HD sounds, delivering the most powerful multimedia performance of sub-notebooks. Packed with Intel® Turbo Memory that has a remarkable improved speed of program loading and booting, as well as the wireless LAN Intel® Next-Gen Wireless-N, the LG R200-G shows a maximum speed of 270Mbps which is five times faster than existing notebooks.

The LG R200-Q (SideShow) has dual LCD SideShow. Windows SideShow is a new technology that allows the Windows Vista operating system to drive auxiliary displays, providing consumers with faster and easier to use bite-size bits of information. The LG R200-Q utilizes NVIDIA Preface technology that allows consumers to access the programs and data stored in the main system even when the notebook is in hibernation mode or turned off. Some of the many gadgets that can be used on the go without draining battery life include music playback, photo slideshows, e-mail, calendars, world clocks, stock quotes, RSS feeds, and more.

The wave-patterned, glossy 14.1” widescreen entertainment notebook – LG R405-G – is the Santa Rosa platform model of its predecessor, LG R400. The LG R405-G also features the Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T7100 with embedded Intel GMA 965 (x3100) graphics, delivering advanced performance and design.

The LG R200–G, R200-Q (SideShow) and LG R405-G are available from 30th August onwards at Comex 2007. The RCP are available with the specifications below and both notebooks come with a one-year international warranty.
