Memory Voltage Pencil Mods: Foxconn C51XEM2AA & Gigabyte 965P DQ6 Foxconn C51XEM2AA Memory Voltage Pencil Mod
The Foxconn C51XEM2AA is one AM2 Motherboard built for overclocking to become a hit among the enthusiasts. As such, it is very genreous with the voltages offered. However as all hardcore overclockers can understand, generous is never enough! I've had quite a few people requesting for a Memory voltage mod that will bring it above the 2.5v offered. Well here it is!
First measure the Memory voltage at the spot marked below with your multimeter:
YOU DO NOT NEED TO TURN ON YOUR PC! You just need to switch on your power supply and you can already read the memory voltage off the spot marked without your PC running.
Next, locate the resistor marked below:
You can simply pencil shade the resistor carefully and bit by bit to increase voltage. Or solder a 20K Ohms variable resistor across, set at maximum resistance. Tune down resistance to increase voltage. Simple right??
