Conclusion

The Nokia 6500 Slide is a Nokia first where it packs a Carl Zeiss lense normally found only on the N-series in a mid-range phone. Not only does its image quality match the K800i which has been the leader in this aspect, the 6500 Slide also boasts superior video quality compared to the latter. Along with its A/V output capable of QVGA video playback on TV sets, Nokia has certainly set a new yardstick in the mid-range mobile phone market for features.  Whilst it is based on the Symbian 40 OS rather than the Symbian 60 OS, the choice of operating system allows for good responsiveness during usage. Battery life is healthy and we managed about 5 hours of usage with a mixture of messaging and phone calls on a single charge. Armed with good build quality, aesthetics and features to match, the Nokia 6500 Slide is a great choice for those who must have a feature rich phone that looks good as well.
