Acer announced its next-generation Ultrabooks based on Intel’s new Haswell Core processors. While the Aspire S7 is the successor to 2012’s flagship, the Aspire S3 is a relatively more affordable than the flagship.

Acer Aspire S7

The Acer Aspire S7 is the flagship Ultrabook by Acer. Powered by Intel’s latest Haswell processors, the 13.3-incher aims to be the world’s best touch enabled Ultrabook, bar none.

“We listened carefully to users to find substantial ways to make it even better” said Jim Wong, Acer Corporate President.

The re-engineered Aspire S7 delivers 7 hours of battery life and packs a second-generation Acer TwinAir cooling technology which promises to reduce noise by up to 20% at maximum load, while running the system cooler and quieter.

Acer Aspire S3

The Acer Aspire S3 is a relatively more affordable Ultrabook launched alongside the flagship Aspire S7. Consider it as a low-end version of the S7, with similar design and an aluminium made chassis to boot. Like its big brother, the Aspire S3 comes with Intel’s latest Haswell Core processor, offering up to a 15% increase in performance and twice as fast 3D graphics processing. Users will be presented with an option to include the Nvidia GT 735M mobile graphics unit as well, for those who want light gaming on-the-go.

Yet again you are treated with a panel that promises accurate color reproduction even at wide (170 degrees wide) viewing angles. The Aspire S3 comes with a 7.2mm 1 TB HDD to satisfy all your storage needs. The Ultrabook weighs above average, at 1.67 KG and is only 17.8mm thick.

The Aspire S3 will begin shipping in July with a starting price of €999.
