Acer'a latest Android powered tablet, the Iconia A1 has launched for a mouth watering price of $169.

Acer's spanking new Iconia A1 is a quad core powered tablet for cheap. Packing a 7.9 inch XGA display (much like the Apple iPad Mini) with the (movie-watching unfriendly) 4:3 aspect ratio, the new Iconia A1 can serve well as a cheap Android powered iPad sized tablet.

Acer Iconia A1 Specifications:

  • Mediatek MTK 8125 Chipset
  • 1.2 GHz Quad Core ARM Cortex A9 CPU
  • 300 MHz PowerVR SGX544 GPU
  • 7.9 Inch XGA (1024 x 768 pixels) display
  • 5 MP Rear Camera, 1080p Video Recording
  • VGA Front Camera
  • 8 / 16 GB Internal Storage
  • MicroSD Card Slot
  • 10.5 mm Thickness
  • Weight: 460 Grams
  • Micro HDMI Port
  • 3G Connectivity Support
  • 3250 mAh Li-Ion Battery
  • Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean

There are two different models of the Iconia A1, one with 8 GB of internal storage and the other with 16 GB of internal storage priced at $169 and $199 respectively. Either way, you can expand storage via a microSD card. The Acer Iconia A1 is expected to hit stores in June, and that's just a month away.
