Affordable quad-core Huawei Glory a big hit in China
The Huawei Glory was officially released on November 6 and has been called "the quad-core king."
Huawei officially released the new Glory smartphone at 11:59 PM on November 6, Beijing time. Local reporters are hailing it as "the king of quad-core machines"; it comes equipped with the new Hass K3V2 processor, a high performance and low power consumption quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 clocked at 1.4 GHz. The Glory comes with 2 GB of RAM, a 4.5-inch 1280×720 HD IPS screen, an 8 megapixel backside-illuminated (BSI) camera, microSD expansion slot, and a 2230 mAh battery capacity. Other perks include GPS satellite naviagtion, dual speaker design, and Dolby 5.1 surround stereo sound. The Glory is currently selling for 1,888 yuan.
Huawei unveiled the Glory on November 1 for a short preview at a mall. Afterwards, an estimated 1 million customers preordered the Glory. According to Huawei, that number soon rose to 2.2 million, setting a record for the mobile phone industry in China.
