We reported earlier that Amazon is working on a new Amazon Kindle Fire, and more leaks and rumors are steadily trickling in.  Latest news regarding the new Kindle involves specs such as quad core processors, metal casings, and multiple tablet sizes.

Google will release the Nexus 7 in July, and it’s aimed at shooting budget tablets like the Kindle Fire straight in the heart.  Amazon, however, is also prepping for battle as they are rumored to also release a quad core powered 7’’ tablet of their own.  Additionally, Amazon is also rumored to have slimmmed down the tablet to the thickness that of the previous gen iPad.  How about making their tablet appeal to every economic classes?  Sources have gotten glimpses of the tablet says that Amazon is getting rid of the “cheap” plastic look of the previous Kindle in favor of a more high end metal casing.

Amazon is going to face off with Google in the 7’’ arena, and why not get into the 10’’ ring at the same time?  The 7’’ Kindle is currently the popular scavenger in the tablet kingdom. However, Amazon will also have a 10’’ "Hollywood" slate for the enthusiasts and stars. Sources that have actually handled the two Kindle tablets note that the 10’’ will have a front facing camera, and both will have a micro-USB port.  There is an extra port on both slates which they assume may be an HDMI-out.

Amazon is responding to Google’s declaration of 7’’ war, but at the same time Amazon will begin to assert itself in the 10’’ battle.  A tablet battle on two fronts, I wonder if Amazon will have done enough strategizing to not go down quickly.
