AMD is pleased to be the technology partner of the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA)-supported Virtual Paper Napkin programme, a training and outreach programme that aims to develop the interest and capabilities in students for 3D applications. AMD’s commitment in the project is demonstrated through the sponsorship of 21 units of 3D graphics workstations featuring AMD Opteron™ processors for the 3D Media studio in Temasek Polytechnic. Based on AMD64 Technology with Direct Connect Architecture, the AMD Opteron™ processor is designed to run existing 32-bit applications with outstanding performance and offers customers a simplified migration path to 64-computing. This feature allows users to effortlessly manage huge amounts of large data sets which is a requirement for 3D applications.
