AMD To Roll Out 6-core Istanbul CPUs in May

It appears that AMD is picking up its pace as Betanews revealed that the 6 core Istanbul CPUs will be pushed forward to May this year and also significant accelerations in its technology roadmap.

With a cautious outlook of the company that had reported a loss for the first quarter of the year of $416 million on revenue. The server market is gloomy for the quarter as well as reported by AMD’s CEO Drik Meyer. 

While sales of CPUs and graphics chips in the desktop and mobile segments rose to compensate. The company continues to be cautious about its outlook, and disputes Intel’s claim earlier in the week that the fallout in the technology industry had hit bottom.

Istanbul is an early introduction of the company’s 45 nm 6-core server processor in hope of pulling in more revenue shipments.

Will AMD be able to gain some ground on the server market with the release of Istanbul ? We shall wait and see
