Android 2.2 Froyo upgrade delayed for Milestone users in Europe

Motorola Milestone

The Motorola Milestone has been retailing in Singapore since March, and the maker has plans of the mobile operating system updates for the Android 2.1-powered phone. Just that despite the long wait, Motorola said the Android 2.2 Froyo update would be available in Q1 next year, for users in Europe (and hopefully other countries too).

The Motorola Milestone (or Droid in US) has gotten favorable reviews, based on the Android 2.1 platofrm. However, with Android moving on to 2.2 and even the new 2.3 versions, many Milestone owners are waiting eagerly for the Android 2.2 (Froyo) update which the company claims would be available by the end of this year. Unfortunately, it seems that Motorola is delaying the update to Q1 2011, according to a Facebook post from Motorola Europe. The reasons given were that the company wanted to provide the best experience to the users.

Well, it seems like there are many users who are unhappy about the delay, as shown from the replies to the Facebook update. But there is nothing one can do but wait for now.
