Android 4 3 Jelly Bean Android 4.3 all but official as HTC teases new features

It seems every day there's a new report further confirming our hunch that Google will introduce a new build of Jelly Bean (Android 4.3) at their 2013 I/O developer conference, which starts in about 10 days.

In an event scheduled for May 16th in San Francisco, HTC developers will discuss new features on Android 4.3 that include Bluetooth Low Energy and Open GL ES 3.0. The Meetup posting further reveals that the members of the group will be getting "an overview of the BLE specification and take us through the new APIs with some hands-on demos with various devices, heart rate monitors, key finders, and multi-sensor kits (temperature, pressure, humidity, accelerometer)."

Also, further talks on Open GL ES 3.0 will tell the members about the new features that it will bring along with it that include:

  • New Pipeline
  • Updated Shading Language
  • Enhanced Texturing

This new Open GL standard, which is supported by the Adreno 320 GPU in the Snapdragon 600 chipset (found in almost all major flagship smartphones at present) will allow for much enhanced graphics, hence pushing the boundaries of mobile gaming and it's quality a few steps north. It seems all but confirmed now that Google will introduce Android 4.3 Jelly Bean at Google I/O 2013, which kicks off real soon. Also expected is a new Nexus 4 LTE smartphone with 32 GB of internal storage. It is safe to assume that the internals of the phone will get bumped up to a newer Snapdragon 600 chipset as well. Whatever happens, we'll find out soon enough.
