Following an annoucement of Sense 5 for the HTC Butterfly, fresh reports have emerged that the HTC One will also receive an update – the long awaited Android 4.2 Jelly Bean
Following a report from a "HTC leakster and developer" @LlabTooFeR, it appears that HTC will not only update the HTC Butterfly in the weeks to come, but also the HTC One, bringing users of the HTC One their long awaited update to the latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. This would bring the HTC One to the same level as Samsung's Galaxy S4 in terms of operating system versions and possibly attract a small crowd of potential users who previously have been attracted to the Galaxy S4's up-to-date operating system.
While an upgrade from Android 4.1 to 4.2 would not be considered "major", this update would bring users some features such as gesture keyboard, lockscreen widget support, quick settings, and bugfixes to some issues to Android 4.1. Hopefully, the bugfixes will also address issues where the capacitive buttons stop working sporadically due to a software issue.
The update to the HTC One is believed to be available in the coming 2-3 weeks, possibly slightly earlier than the updates for the HTC Butterfly, which is also slated to be available in May.
