Android Market secretly reaches 200,000 apps

While Android has been playing catch up to Apple's App store, it looks like the Google camp has just secretly welcomed their milestone 200,000 apps; Apple's App store is reported to offer 300,000 apps and growing.

Android Market secretly reaches 200,000 apps

The Android Market has reached its 200,000 apps milestone, quietly, which is a big step for the Google mobile operating system within a period of two years. Google has also started to revamp the Android Market and could add video preview in the near future.

Google has asked the Android developers to upload a video preview of their apps. The company is getting more strict in the app uploading process to the Android Market: in addition to eight screenshots, developers must also upload a video preview. There are currently 500 apps that have been submitted with the video preview.
