The hacker activist group known as Anonymous has been a formidable force across the internet, and they have just struck again by hijacking the official federal website of the United States Sentencing Commission.

The hacker collective sites the death of Aaron Swartz as the main reason of their recent strike, and makes the following claims regarding Swartz's death:

"Aaron Swartz was killed because he was forced into playing a game he could not win — a twisted and distorted perversion of justice — a game where the only winning move was not to play.

There must be a return to proportionality of punishment with respect to actual harm caused.”

Anonymous further claim that they have taken over this particular website for "symbolic" reasons, and they have left their mark on the site with a list of demands. If these demands are not met, the activist group threatens to release a trove of embarrassing Justice Department files to major media outlets.

Since then, the affected website has been taken down, and along with Aaron Swart'z suicide, Anonymous makes cites the arrest of members of the hackivist group as cause for their current strike.
