Another spate of suicides hit Foxconn’s factory in China
Three workers at the Foxconn factory have jumped to their deaths in three weeks
According to state media and labour rights group, three workers at Foxconn committed suicide by jumping to their deaths in the Foxconn plant located in central Zhengzhou. This marks a new chain of suicides with Foxconn's workers, known for committing suicides and organizing strikes in response to Foxconn's subpar working conditions and low wages.
A 24 year old man marked the first fatality in this three weeks, killing himself on 24 April, followed by a 23 year old woman on 27 April and the latest fatality this Tuesday, a 30 year old man. A New York-based China Labour Watch rights group said that "The reasons for these building jumpings are unclear".
