Socket & Capacitors
AK89 Max is fitted with 7 x Ultra
Low ESR/Impedance Aluminum electrolytic capacitors from United Chemi-Con of
3300μ, 6.3V each to provide additional stability of CPU power and another 3 x
1800μ, 16V each for the MOSFETs. The CPU voltage regulating is controlled by the
ADP3166 and the DIMM voltage regulating
is controlled by Winbond W8334D.
nForce3 150 MCH
AK89 Max is fitted with a passive
aluminum heatsink on the nForce3 150 single core logic chipset. nForce3 150 is
based on the 0.15μ process technology and is linked up to the CPU on dedicated
HyperTransport with throughput at 3.6GB/sec. It has built-in NVIDIA RAID
technology supporting RAID 0, RAID 1, and RAID 0+1. It supports NVIDIA IEEE
802.3 MAC (Media Access Controller) and 10/100 BaseT Ethernet/Fast Ethernet.
Realtek’s new audio CODEC ALC655 comply with the
new standard, AC’97 Rev 2.3, providing a Jack-Sensing function, a PCBEEP
Generator, and Interrupt Capability. Realtek ALC655 is a 16-bit, full-duplex
AC’97 Rev. 2.3 compatible six-channel audio CODEC providing 3 pairs of stereo
outputs with 5-bit volume control, a mono output, and multiple stereo and mono
inputs, along with flexible mixing, gain, and mute functions. The ALC655 also
supports S/PDIF input and output and is embedded with an impedance sensing
capability to detect when a device has been connected to input or output jacks.
Agere Systems IEEE1394a controller
can support up to three IEEE Std 1394a-2000 fully compliant cable ports at 100M
bits/s, 200M bits/s, and 400M bits/s.
AOpen has provided an IEEE1394
cable to support 2 firewire ports.
Realtek RTL8110S-32 is a
10/100/1000MB Ethernet chip and is compliant with the IEEE 802.3 specification
for 10/100Mbps Ethernet and the IEEE 802.3ab specification for 1000Mbps
Ethernet. It supports the ACPI, remote wake-up (including AMD Magic Packet, Re-LinkOk,
and Microsoft® Wake-up frame) in both ACPI and APM (Advanced Power Management)
Silicon Image SiI 3114 is a
single-chip PCI to 4-port Serial ATA (SATA) host controller. Software RAID 0
(striping), RAID 1 (mirroring) and RAID 1+0 (mirrored stripe) functions are
supported through Silicon Image’s SATARaid™ RAID management software utility.
AOpen Die Hard BIOS has 2 system
BIOSes on the motherboard where one is the Main BIOS while the other is the
Backup BIOS. If the Main BIOS is corrupted, the Backup BIOS will take over the
function without you knowing that there is a failure.
The back panel multi IO consists of the PS/2 Keyboard and PS/2
Mouse Connectors, 1 Parallel Port (EPP/ECP), 2 Serial Ports, Audio connector
(Center/Subwoofer/Front Speake), 4 USB Ports, 1 RJ45 LAN connector. AOpen has
provided an USB 2.0 cable to support another two more USB 2.0 ports.
