FaceTime was integrated within the Phone app on iOS some time ago, but it appears that it might be making a comeback as a separate app as Apple has filed a patent for a new FaceTime icon. Check it out after the jump.

Untitled Apple files patent for new iOS 7 FaceTime icon

The news of Apple filing a new patent comes from the usual source of patent office-related Apple news – Patently Apple. Filed under 85968558, the patent includes an all-new FaceTime icon that looks right at home with the polarizing new icon design language in iOS 7, featuring a simple white video camera on a bright green color gradient background.

FaceTime on iOS 7 will include support for voice calls. iOS 7 itself is set to launch this fall, presumably alongside the next-generation iPhone.
