Apple iPhone 4 Shortage Hits China

The iPhone 4 is so popular that in China, the demand has exceeded the supply when it retail launched last Saturday.

Telecommunications operator China Unicom said that they have received more than 200,000 preorders by Saturday, as compared to the 100,000 iPhone handsets sold last year in a six-week period. This has caused the shortage of iPhone 4 and that the company will increase the supply as soon as they can.

According to an Apple spokeswoman, more iPhones will be available and that users should check online or with their stores. Apple has opened two stores over the weekend and as part of plans to add a total of 25 by the end of next year.
