There have been countless rumors in the past which peg iWatch release next next. As per a new rumor, Apple will release the iWatch in the second half of 2014 and will price it between $149 – $229.
The smartwatch niche has heated up this year. A number of small companies have raised phenomenal amounts of money through crowdfunding for their very own smartwatches. On the other hand there are companies which are expected to release their own watches, and these companies have enough deep pockets to easily make that happen. Apple is one of those companies, Microsoft and Samsung are apparently developing watches as well.
An analyst based at CIMB Group in Kuala Lumpur believes that Apple will release iWatch in the second half of 2014. The analyst claims that almost 60 percent of the production will be done by Inventec, the iWatch is expected to account for 19 percent of its total profits in 2014. The vague price tag of $149-$229 has also been floated by this very analyst. Most analysts are now on the same page, they believe that iWatch release will happen next year, despite rumors on the contrary which claim that Apple will release its smartwatch in 2013.
Apple itself hasn’t said anything about a watch as yet, so all of this should be taken with a grain of salt. What’s interesting to note is that Samsung has confirmed that it is launching Galaxy Gear smartwatch on September 4th. The Korean manufacturer is one of Apple’s biggest rivals, surely the Cupertino outfit will answer with its very own smartwatch? One can only hope that it does.
