Customers spent $10 billion on Apple’s App Store throughout 2013, with $1 billion being spent in December alone!.
CES reigns supreme over all tech blogs right now as they coverage all of the amazing technology that’s being showcased there. Despite that Apple today sent out a press release marking a new milestone for its App Store. The company announced that App Store sales topped $10 billion last year. Last month alone users downloaded more than three billion apps, making it the most successful month in App Store’s history. Developers have obviously been benefitting, to date Apple has paid out more than $15 billion to developers all around the world.
In the press release Apple mentioned a few apps that it believes best synced up with all of the changes that were made in iOS 7. Released last year, iOS 7 is Apple’s latest and greatest platform update with a radically redesigned user interface and revamped user experience. Developers such as Evernote, AirBnB, Yahoo, Tumblr, Pinterest and American Airlines were mentioned for creating apps that bring content to the forefront while increasing overall efficiency and performance.
Apple’s SVP of Internet Software and Services, Eddy Cue, said that the company looks forward to seeing what developers have in store for 2014, and thanks customers for making 2013 the “best year ever ” for the Apple App Store.
