It isn’t known right now when Apple intends to unveil its refreshed iPad models. A new rumor from a French blog suggests that the company might conduct a media event on October 15 to announce the tablets.
Rumors about the new iPad and iPad mini 2 have already been making rounds on the internet. As yet, Apple has not disclosed anything regarding the upcoming iPads. It is believed that both new iPads will be launched together at the October 15 event. Other products rumored to be unveiled at this event include refreshed MacBook Pro and iMac models and maybe even a new Apple TV. OS X Mavericks is expected to be released on the same day as well.
It won’t be unusual for Apple to conduct another media event after its September 10 iPhone event. Last year the company unveiled new iPods and the iPhone 5 at an event in September and followed up with the iPad 4 and iPad mini in October. So it won’t exactly be shocking to see the trend repeat this year as well. Both MacBook Pro and iMac lineups are already due for a refresh, they haven’t received Intel Haswell processors like the MacBook Air lineup, OS X Mavericks release has already been slated for October and an Apple TV announcement is consistently being rumored.
This particular rumor comes from a source that has a mixed track record, so for now a grain of salt is advised. It remains to be seen if the iPad mini 2 will indeed come with a Retina display, as many have us believe that it would.
