The first official trailer for the Ashton Kutcher starring jOBS movie has been released today. The movie itself is slated for release this August, after a four month delay.
Earlier this year, Open Road Films, the company behind this project, premiered the movie at Sundance Film Festival. It received mixed reviews from critics, with Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak saying that the movie was quite far from reality. Open Road Films released a one minute clip from jOBS in January so you can judge for yourself, the trailer now comes with a few mixed scenes from the movie.
Those Steve Jobs fans who think that this movie does not depict reality should find solace in the fact that Aaron Sorkin, of The Social Network fame, is actually writing a film on this iconic CEO. That project is actually an official adaptation of Walter Isaacson’s biography of Steve Jobs, for which Steve offered full co-operation. The cast for that movie is not known yet.
Even though quite a few people are uncertain about Ashton’s portrayal of Steve Jobs, we generally tend to see interest in movies of this sort. It’s because they’re related to personalities that have a big effect on many people’s lives. Take The Social Network for example, in which Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s story was told, it too saw widespread interest. jOBS hits theatres in the U.S. on August 16.
