Last year it was revealed that Ashton Kutcher will be playing the late Apple CEO Steve Jobs in a biopic called jOBS. The public release was delayed for around few months, supposed to be out on 19th April, the jOBS movie release will now take place on 16th of August, 2013.
Actually Open Road Films, the folks behind this biopic, delayed the release by up to four months because they thought they needed more time to market the movie properly. Over the coming weeks, those who are based in the U.S. will definitely start seeing promotional material for jOBS. This movie will be launched nationwide in the U.S. on August 16th, Open Road Films hasn’t said when it plans on releasing it in other countries around the world, if that is even going to happen in the first place.
Despite the fact that its release was delayed, Ashton Kutcher’s jOBS movie has received quite a bit of coverage online. After the first clip from this movie was released, Apple’s co-founder Steve Wozniak said that the movie doesn’t exactly show what had transpired in real life. Even if the preliminary reactions haven’t been good, quite a lot of people are just going to be curious enough to see Ashton’s portrayal of Steve Jobs. People were curious when The Social Network came out as well, in which Jesse Eisenberg portrayed Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Even though the makers of that movie apparently did take liberties with the story, it goes to show that people really are curious about these big companies and the personalities behind them.
