The trailer for the recently announced Assassin's Creed: Black Flag is now online, giving us a sneak peak of what is to come, as well as a release date.

Only days after the first morsels of information started coming in about the new Assassin's Creed game, we have a trailer. The trailer was leaked earlier in the week, but quickly removed in preparation for an official Monday reveal, but it seems as if it's here to stay now, as other sources have now begun uploading the trailer to YouTube.

The new trailer begins in an inn somewhere as a crowd gathers around notorious pirate Blackbeard himself, who boasts about the new protagonist's abilities as a captain and warrior. The trailer confirms a lot of what we have been suspecting (and reporting) about the game; that you will play as Connor's grandfather (Connor being the protagonist of Assassin's Creed III), and that the game will indeed take place in the West Indies.

Another piece of expected news that is now confirmed is that the game will see a next gen release, alongside the current gen release. Considering AC's propensity for CGI trailers, this is really going out on a limb, but it's possible then, that the very flashy trailer is actually not CGI, but in-game rendering from a new engine. I'd say that's unlikely though.

And of course, the best part: We have a release date, which has been set to October 29th!
