ASUS Maximus V Extreme is a Time Machine – Pause and Un-Pause Benchmark Runs!

Imagine having the ability to pause a prolonged WR benchmark attempt halfway and walk off for a smoke/snack, carrying on where you left off later. The latest beta BIOS update for the Maximus V Extreme does just that, which is a godsend for hungry or breathless extreme overclockers around the world.

Imagine having the ability to pause a prolonged WR benchmark attempt halfway and walk off for a smoke/snack, carrying on where you left off later. The latest beta BIOS update for the Maximus V Extreme (our own review coming soon) does just that, which is a godsend to hungry or breathless extreme overclockers around the world.

Procedure (OCKey must be installed):

CTL + F1 = Pause
CTL + F1 = Unpause

If reboot during a pause phase, shutdown and use OCKey to unpause and turn on again to make sure it boots properly without being paused.

This latest development on the Maximus V Extreme comes after a host of other innovations on the recently released motherboard which includes Subzero Sense (integrated thermometer with subzero support) and VGA Power Control (i2c access to control voltage and OCP/LLC settings). We will update this section again after we ask ASUS engineers about how this time machine works.
