ASUS MX299Q makes widescreen wider

Showcased at CES 2013, the ASUS MX299Q WLED monitor takes the typical widescreen experience to a different level.

The new MX299Q wide-angle (WLED) monitor revealed by Asus at CES 2013 delivers hearty fare for even the hungriest wide-angle lovers.

Featuring a 29'' frameless edge-to-edge display with a 2560 x 1080 resolution, the MX299Q has a 21:9 aspect ratio for an ultra-wide viewing experience.

With a 178° horizontal and vertical viewing angle, this WLED screen offers an ultra-slim profile with a sundial-style stand design as well as extensive connectivity with a HDMI port (with MHL function), Dual-link DVI, DisplayPort port, an earphone jack,  a PC audio-in jack.

As far as sound, the MX299Q features ASUS Sonicmaster technology that was co-developed with Bang & Olufsen ICEpower.

The MX299Q from Asus is planned to be available in the first quarter of 2013 for a price point of $599.
