Asus to launch 27-inch PA279Q ProArt Series LCD monitor at Computex

ASUS announced today the PA279Q ProArt series monitor, a professional 27-inch AH-IPS monitor capable of displaying 99% Adobe Wide Gamut RGB, which comes factory calibrated for maximum out-of-the-box colour accuracy.

The newly announced ASUS PA279Q adds to the company’s line-up of ProArt series monitors. Catering to the professional crowd, the PA279Q features outstanding color reproduction (99% Adobe Wide Gamut RGB), a very high resolution WQHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) display and stunning viewing angles (178 degrees wide). The high resolution panel translates to a relatively high 109 ppi (pixels per inch) pixel density enabling greater image detail and sharpness. Individual pixels just got harder to spot on this 27-incher, the large screen size allowing for a larger on-screen working area for professionals.

Salient features of the ASUS PA279Q monitor:

  • Reduced Energy Consumption
  • Superior Color Accuracy
  • Increased Backlight Transmission (for an overall brighter image)
  • DisplayPort, HDMI, dual-link DVI-D Ports
  • PIP (Picture in Picture) Mode
  • Built-in Stereo 3W Speakers
  • SD Card Slot
  • Six-port USB 3.0 HUB

ASUS does mention that their monitor comes factory pre-calibrated for unmatched color accuracy and features an independent six-axis color control. The PA279Q can display content from two sources simultaneously, a rather handy feature for workstations. Here’s the full specifications sheet for to feed the (hungry) geek in you:
