Finally, Duke Nukem Forever has been given an official release by publisher 2K Games after almost 13 years in development, as confirmed by developer Gearbox Software.
The highly anticipated first person shooter has had its release date changed from ‘When It’s Done’ to May 3rd in the US and May 6th globally. It will be available on PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
Duke Nukem Forever has gone through a extremely complicated development, with 3D Realms refusing to confirm release dates and constantly starting from scratch all over again on the game. In the end, after financial troubles ensued, Borderlands developer Gearbox Software was tasked with completing the game.
The confirmation of the release date comes from Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford, who revealed the date to Game Informer.
