ATi Radeon X1800 XT PE will be coming next week according to a German site,
K-Hardware.
This card is clocked higher at 700MHz core and 1600MHz memory to be better
positioned against NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX 512. It is yet to be determine what
kind of memories will be used on the X1800 XT PE so it could probably still be
the Samsung 1.26ns GDDR3 or even the faster 1.1ns memories. However, we have no
problems hitting 750MHz core and 1700MHz for
the X1800 XT card in an overclocking test so it wouldn’t be surprise if the
X1800 XT PE is essentially a X1800 XT card. The performance gap between the two
companies flagship products will once again close up but the price point for
X1800 XT PE should still be lower than the 7800 GTX 512.
