The motherboard manufacturers have just received RS482 chipsets
from ATI for mass production and this chipset is meant to fight against NVIDIA
nForce 4 series for AMD platform. RS482 has the same features set as the RS480
chipset but it is built on a finer 0.11 micron process on FC-BGA package. It is
priced at at around US$ 30. Similarly there are plans for RD482 chipset as well
for the Crossfire platform.
