ATI RS482 chipset has some features improvements over as the RS480 and it is built on a finer 0.11 micron process on FC-BGA package. It can support HDTV and Z-Buffer Technology but doesn’t support frame buffer memory known as “Sideport Memory” for the integrated graphics core. RS482 has 3-7% performance improvement over the RS480 because of the Z-Buffers as it conserves memory bandwidth. The motherboard manufacturers have just received RS482 chipsets from ATI for mass production and this chipset is meant to fight against NVIDIA nForce 4 series for AMD platform. It is priced at at around US$ 30.
