Although ATI has just announced the Radeon X1000 family consists of X1300 (RV515), X1600 (RV530) and X1800 (R520) but the internal department isn’t too pleased with their performance so far. Therefore, ATi is stepping up their effort on the next generation R580 and has already completed the design and development process so the performance should be looking good. ATi also plans to further improve the RV530 series performance. Right now, RV530 has 12PS/5VS but has only 4 ROP and 4 TMU with 128-bit memory interface therefore the performance isn’t too great. Therefore ATi plans to push out improved version of RV530 and the improved version will be known as RV560 and most likely will support 256-bit memory interface.
