Nikkei Business has earlier reported that AU by KDDI will be selling the new iPhone 5 in early November. But it seems that Nikkei, the sibling entity of Nikkei Business, said that the operator would only be selling the highly anticipated Apple iPhone 5 in early 2012 instead. Softbank has been the exclusive telco operator for the iPhone in the past three years, but it seems that AU by KDDI, who is the second largest mobile phone carrier to NTT DoCoMo, has managed to seal the contract to sell the iPhone 5 in Japan. This could be good news to AU users, especially those who have switched to Softbank because of the iPhone.
