It's common nowadays to find audio docks in your bedroom since your iPhone or iPod can function as your alarm clock while holding your digital music library. Most audio docks that I have come across so far have all kinds of speakers in different amount and sizes; some come with a built-in FM transmitter. But Audyssey's audio dock is something more, on top of its unbelievable sound it produce. Read on for the review.

There are literally tons of audio docks that are available on the market that come in different design, size and price tag to spoil Apple iPhone and iPod users. But there are not many that actually sound good. Many users mistake loudness without distortion as good sounding audio docks. That might be true in one aspect, but most of the time, these "loud without distortion" audio docks lack in either low (bass), mids, highs, or even a mixture of both. The South of Market edition audio dock from Audyssey, however, begs to differ.
Well, you may be absolutely clueless when the brand Audyssey is mentioned. But this isn't exactly a young company that is new in the audio industry. In fact, their unique technologies can be found in sound systems in movie theaters, home theaters, recording studios, mobile phones and more. But being the veteran in the industry, this is probably their very first consumer product on the market.
Why and what is South of Market? Upon digging up more information of this audio dock, it actually got this name from a neighbourhood in San Francisco, California. South of Market, or SoMa, is a place where art, music, culture and fashion collide. In a way, you can say it is quite an indie place. The fine people at Audyssey believe that their audio dock carries the spirit and concepts of the neighbourhood and thus, the origin of the name.
So how does Audyssey perform with this audio dock in the consumers' world? Let's take a look (or hear).
But before we move on, here are the technical specifications taken off Audyssey's website:
