Award-winning indie game LIMBO, after arriving on several home and handheld consoles, is now headed to Apple’s coveted iOS ecosystem. Will cost $4.99 only.
LIMBO, originally an XLBA title, debuted back in 2010 and won everyone’s heart (and stole everyone’s mind) away with its ingenuity, sad and spooky yet fascinating atmosphere and the simple yet sometimes (more often than not) gets-you-thinking puzzles. It didn’t come as a big surprise that the game won the award for the best indie puzzle-platformer, and its debut on PC received an equally huge response (with respect to both reviews and sales). The game later launched on the PS3 (a month before launch on PC) and MAC in 2011, with the most recent launch being on Sony’s handheld PlayStation Vita, earlier this month.
Developer ‘PLAYDEAD’ is now all set to launch their super smash hit title on iOS, opening up this fun, 5-hour game iPad, iPod and iPhone owners. The developer emphasizes on the hard work that they have done to adapt the game to touch controls. You can soon enjoy the monochromatic style game on the iPad 2, iPad Mini, iPad 3, iPad 4, iPod Touch 5G, iPhone 4S and iPhone 5.
Perhaps the best part about the game is that iOS users get to enjoy the title at just $4.99, beating the $9.99 price tag on Steam and the $14.99 price tag for the PS3. Despite having played the game on PC back in 2011, I can’t wait to get my hands-on this game when it for the iPad. Time to clear some dust off my trusty old tablet.
