Baidu’s first wearable device launches, is called Plump Hand Ring

Chinese search giant Baidu has made its foray into the world of wearable devices with the launch of a wristband named Plump Hand Ring.

This wristband will be able to monitor your exercise schedules, calories consumption, sleep habits, distance travelled and other vital information. Information gathered will be sent to Baidu’s cloud servers, where it will be accessible through your smartphone.

The wristband also syncs with a calendar service and can be used as an event reminder tool. Other nifty features include the ability to sync with Baidu’s exercise and diet services that give you recommendations based on your activity.

First 500 prototypes units of the Plump Hand Ring will be sold for 299 Yuan ($48), after which the device will cost 399 Yuan ($65). The device will be manufactured by Chinese start-up company Codoon.
