Barnes & Noble to launch new Nook Color tablet?

Reported by on Monday, September 26 2011 11:58 am

With the success of their Nook tablets, it could be true that Barnes & Noble could be planning to launch a new one under the same line. And if reports are true, we may see the new tablet in stores in the next quarter, which is timely for end of year Christmas shoppers.

Barnes & Noble to launch new Nook Color tablet?

If news from The Digital Reader are believed to be true, Barnes & Noble could be launching three new tablets this year, with one of them being an update to the Nook Color. The Nook Touch and Nook Color would retain their US$139 and US$249 price tags respectively, and the two Nook Color tablets would have higher price points. The Encore and Acclaim tablets will be priced at US$249 and US$349, and note that Acclaim is a new codename for the tablet. It is likely that Encore could be the new update to the Nook Color, seeing the similar pricing. Unfortunately, no specifications were given, though it was mentioned that the new tablets would be out in the next quarter, which could be as early as October.
