Who says ebooks aren’t suitable for kids? Well, Barnes & Noble is launching Nook Kids for children aged 3 to 8 years old. According to the largest book retailer in the United States, the digital collection will consist of more than 12,000 books including picture books and novels.
Nook Kids will be the name for the digital collection Barnes & Noble will be launching soon. With more than 12,000 ebooks for children from three to eight years of age, the collection is available at NookKids.com and BarnesandNoble.com, and will be accessible via an app for Apple’s iPad and other devices. According to the largest book retailer in the United States, close to 100 picture books will also be available mid next month, with about 30 enhanced picture books to be available by end of the year or early next year.
It is a great effort by Barnes & Noble to position itself as the provider of digital e-books for not only adults, but also with children. This may also present a new enjoyable digital experience for kids which is not possible on the traditional books.
