Barnes & Noble Nook HD and HD+ gets official Google Play Store support
There's some great news for B&N Nook HD and HD+ owners, Google is officially rolling out Play Store access for these otherwise app-deprived e-Reader cum tablet hybrids.
Barnes & Noble is working together with Google to introduce the official Play Store to their latest tablets, the Nook HD and HD+. The popular book store chain said it will add the Play Store app to it's 7 inch and 9 inch Nook HD and HD+, expanding the catalogue of apps from a mere 10,000 to nearly 700,000 apps found on Google's Play Store.
What does this mean for Amazon's Kindle Fire?
Up until now Nook's biggest rival (Amazon Kindle) had the upper hand in the number of apps (above 50,000) and providing double the internal storage (although Nook does have a microSD card slot), but this new development should tip the scales in favor of B&N. We'd love to see what move Amazon makes in light of recent developments.
