DICE, developers of the Battlefield series of FPS games, have posted on their blog today to clarify that that the Battlefield 3 Physical Warfare Pack, initially announced as an exclusive pre-order weapons upgrade DLC, will be unlocked for free to all Battlefield 3 players after the title release on 25th October 2011 later this year.  Relieved Battlefield fans should now see it as a "reward for pre-ordering" and not a "punishment for not pre-ordering".

The much hyped Back to Karkand expansion (remake of 4 BF2 goldies maps – Strike at KarkandGulf of OmanSharqi Peninsula and Wake Island) will also be released some time after the BF3 base game, developed by the same team that did BFBC2: Vietnam.
